Crust and crumbs

This month's theme at my fave food blog is crusts. I made Focaccia from Rose Levy Berenbaum's Bread Bible. Just a piece of advice- do not attempt to make high hydration dough mixer recipes by hand. Our hands are not powered by electricity, as I realized a bit too late.

My arm is still aching, but the bread was delightfully crusty.

If you would like to make focaccia and you don't have a dough mixer, just use this recipe. If you do have a mixer, Rose's recipe is a sure shot winner.

    It was, but I hate to do work where I could have done without. There is a dough blade that comes with my food processor as well, but its never been used and has turned into some sort of kitchen ghost.

    I meant to say that this photo is great too … I love the way the "air bubbles" are so defined. I hope you are giving consideration to writing and photographing your own book….. I would certainly buy one – well, as long as it is not hideously expensive! ๐Ÿ™‚

    ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you.Not sure about the book thing…I read so many great food blogs; their content is a million times better than mine. Only thing worse than not being a writer is being a failed writer, in my opinion. lol

    I think you are better than you think – especially when you write the little "history" or "personal" note about a dish. And, honestly, your food photography is superb!

    I could take a year off and be their personal chef..such luxury, getting to cook every day without worrying about work or studies or other humdrum stuff..

    Ha ha..not that kind of hurt, but I did wonder if it was ever going to get done. Instead of kneading dough, I was stirring flour soup! Thank you.
