  4. Purplesque says:

    Amazing, isn't it.

  5. Purplesque says:

Oh, yes…there are some things that a camera simply does not capture.

  6. Purplesque says:

Yes..the fallen ones would extend into the forest as far as eye could see, the wood slowly rotting away, the branches covered with moss and fungae, the root system big enough to harbor Huge rocks..it was awe-inspiring.

  7. Purplesque says:

Thank you. I don't think we were really able to capture the beauty of the place with the camera, but its there in my head. πŸ™‚

  8. M-----l says:

Great pictures. I sort of wish they had sound, though. I love the sound of running water out in nature. I can almost hear it looking at your top three shots.
    (Thanks for the cards.)

  9. are you currently away on vacation? i am officially jealous.

  10. Emjay says:

Your photos are like postcards!!! Better! Are you going to make postcards from them? You can buy cards with sticky backing to do just that.

  11. Purplesque says:

I agree..the sound was the lure that kept us going in the rain, drawing us towards the falls.( You're very welcome..I read your message after I'd mailed them. But I have another full set, so no worries. πŸ™‚

  12. Purplesque says:

Its turning out to be one of those vacations where you need another vacation to recover from the first one. Hopefully, yours will be more restful when it rolls around.

  13. Purplesque says:

Brilliant idea..but who will I mail them to? All I have is my Vox neighbors..:)

  14. Zotta says:

If you need any thank-you notes, they'd be great, no?

  15. Emjay says:

You could mail them to your family at home. Also, as Zotta says, they are great as thank you notes!

  16. Purplesque says:

That is a great idea. I'm also thinking of printing some of these and framing them for a picture gallery. Thanks!

  17. Purplesque says:

Ha ha..I'd first read about Sol Duc on your blog. It was a pleasant surprise to realize that's where my sister had planned to take us. I still remember the pictures..:)

  22. Purplesque says:

It smelled real..the pine and cedars, the earth, the green, all underscored by the smell of rotting wood..no manicured park, this.
