Switched on the TV to catch the end of MASH..ended up watching Bridges of the Madison County. I first read the book when I was 17, my sister was graduating. Its a day flash-frozen in memory; sitting in a cane chair in my uncle's lawn, waiting for everybody to come back; not wanting them to. I was young; I cried.
The whole 'flash back' thing the movie does is a little disconcerting, especially since I don't recall that in the book. Still, its a well-done movie, judging by my cry-o-meter. Meryl Streep is wonderful.
And I need to grow up.
